Our Story
The Ladybug for Girls® Foundation, Inc. is a growing community of parents and their daughters, school teachers, sport coaches and health professionals who are concerned about the health and well-being of girls in Atlanta. Like many of our parents, our founder was troubled by the soaring obesity rates, the gender gap in sports, and the inadequate resources for the social and emotional well-being of children within the health system.
Since launching in 2008 at the Clarkston Community Center with 12 Liberian refugee girls, through research, health education, and policy advocacy the Ladybug for Girls Foundation has served thousands of young girls and their families in underserved communities. We have achieved this through our after-school sport development programs, community workshops, and with the installation of learning gardens for schools. Every year since, our Ladybug for Girls athletes have blazed a trail to be their healthiest both on and off the field.
Our classes are fun, educational, and tailored to meet the needs of young athletic girls in youth sports to navigate life through sisterhood, confidence, and a strong mind and body. Today, we are Atlanta’s leading organization dedicated to girls’ health and wellness so our little girls can feel beautiful from the inside out with a positive mindset to become Champions!

"I am so happy to help with the Ladybug for Girls event in recognition of American Heart Health month. I think this is such a great event and what I believe truly makes a difference. If we can get our children to develop healthier habits then I won't have to see them struggle to break very bad lifestyle choices down the road."
